The Pawn Shop Script Book

I’m ecstatic to report that we’re nearly 100% funded in our Pawn Shop Kickstarter campaign — at the time of this writing just over $400 to go — and so we’re making the final push to make sure that happens this week, so we can start shelling out some awesome stretch goals! As incentive to get everyone to continue sharing our project, pledging, and perhaps even upping their pledges, we’re offering a free digital download of the Pawn Shop Script Book to all backers $10+ — but only if we’re fully funded by Friday, August 10.

The Script Book will include my handwritten notes and rough drafts along with the final typed draft to compare it to, in addition to some of Sean’s sketches and layouts. The idea is to paint a full picture of the creative process and the evolution of the Pawn Shop story. Like so:

Check out the post on Kickstarter for more examples of what you’ll be seeing in the book. Thanks to everyone for their support so far, and we hope you’ll keep up the awesome support!

80% and Counting

Sean and I would like to offer a very sincere thank you to everyone that’s pledged and shared the PAWN SHOP Kickstarter campaign thus far. We’re happy to say that in just nearly 8 days, we’re 80% funded with under $1500 left to go. We’ll be announcing some new reward tiers soon, along with stretch goals should we reach our funding early.

We hope that you’ll continue to spread the word to any comic book or New York City fans that you might know and help us bring Pawn Shop to the masses.

Pawn Shop: Love and Life in NYC

I teased this cover a while back, but now it’s official: artist Sean Von Gorman and I have launched our Kickstarter campaign for our new original graphic novel, Pawn Shop. This is the most personal project I’ve ever written, and I can’t wait to show it off to the world.

We’re aiming for $7K to print and distribute the book, and we hope you’ll like what you see and help make this a reality.

Check out our campaign here, and please — spread the word anywhere and everywhere you can. If you’d like to do any press on the campaign, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Footprints Funded at 108% on Kickstarter

It already feels like it was forever ago that we launched the Footprints Kickstarter. As of Monday morning, we successfully surpassed our goal of $7500. In fact, the final stats were: 108% funded, 199 backers, $8,123 pledged.

I’ve done it a thousand times, but I want to offer a very sincere thank you to everyone the pledged, Facebooked, tweeted, interviewed, reviewed, previewed, podcasted and everything else that brought the word to the masses. We are eternally grateful for helping us tell a story that we believe in, even if it’s silly at heart.

As you know, Footprints #1 is already complete. The remaining issues will be going into production over the summer, and we hope to have the series completed by the end of the year. Stay tuned to this blog, or, if you’re a backer on Kickstarter, to the project updates. I’ll periodically be posting updates as we make progress on the remainder of the series.

Thank you all so much, we couldn’t have done it without you. Literally.

Watch Me on the Geekscape.net Show!

This past weekend I was a guest on the awesome Geekscape.net video show and podcast! Along with Alphonso McAuley of the FOX comedy Breaking In, we talk comics, nerds in love, video games, and of course, Footprints. It was a lot of fun, so thanks to Jonathan London and the other Geekscape folks for having me on!
